Whenever anyone asks me what my next book (The Blind Side of Love) is about, I always force K to explain it because I find that she does a much better job putting the plot into words. When I try to do it, I always end up saying something like, “Um… well, it’s about… let’s see… there’s this girl… and then she meets this other girl… but you know, other things happen… um…there’s a robot named Buttercup?”
Seeing as I’m going to have to turn in a blurb to my editor at some point, I figure I should try to organize my thoughts. I’ve decided to start by drawing it out. In stick figures. Because I can’t actually draw.
So here it goes.
THE BLIND SIDE OF LOVE
It’s about a girl named Julianne Franqui who’s a famous actress.
She’s got her career in order. Life is going okay for her. She’s convinced herself that she doesn’t need love or relationships. Although that’s mostly because she’s terrified of anyone finding out that she’s a lesbian.
Then there’s this other girl, Kris Milano, who’s an art student/artist in NYC.
She’s a bit emo because her relationship with her boyfriend is falling apart and she’s a bit lacking in inspiration lately. Also her family doesn’t support her desire to be an artist. But you know, whatever. That’s life.
Anyhoo–
One day, Julianne is in NYC and sees a painting. She falls instantly in love with it.
So she buys it and takes it home (to L.A.) and hangs it in her bedroom.
The painting comes with a business card attached to it. After much internal debate, Julianne decides that she’s going to send an email to the artist telling her how much she loves the painting.
Naturally, she can’t email as herself, famous actress that she is.
So the two of them start emailing back and forth. And then other stuff happens. Like Julianne moves to NY to film a movie. And then meets Kris in person! Only Kris doesn’t know that Julianne is the person she’s been emailing with!!! And there’s a robot named Buttercup!!!!!11

No sabia si escribirte en Ingles o Español, pero me decidí por el que mas domino, solo quería decir que me fascinaron tus dos versiones, creo que encontré cierta familiaridad en tu humor o forma de escribir, me fue realmente fácil visualizar todo mientras leía, imagina ahora mientras leía la primera vez de Julianne en la ultima versión.. ok, mejor me callo. Realmente espero sigas escribiendo, aquí tienes a una fiel lectora, incluso si haces un libro llamado "La vida de Buttercup", lo leeré de todas formas ;)
